Tests
JMFlex
rubber and elastomer joints have been subjected to exhaustive
tests. Movements, pressures and temperatures where tested in line
with DIN 4809.
Flexibility
Test
DIN
4809 calls for each joint in the sample to be tested under the
following conditions :-
Number
of movements : 2500 load changes at maximum deflection (13mm compression
and 9mm extension)
Pressure : 10 Bar
Temperature : 100ºC
Followed
by an increased pressure test.
Pressure
Test
Test
pressure : 20 Bar
Temperature : 100ºC
Duration : 1 Hour
Burst
Pressure Test
After
the ageing test the joints had to undergo a burst pressure test
which had to be greater than 30 Bar.
Test
Certificates
Every
JMFlex expansion joint is hydraulically pressure tested to 1½
times it's maximum working pressure prior to despatch and a test
certificate is issued.
Accompanying
Documentation
A
"Safety and Installation" booklet is sent with every
order and each joint has a tag giving advice on installation and
maintenance.
JMFlex
PED Approved Expansion Joints and Compensators
The
European Pressure Equipment Directive became mandatory on the
30th May 2002 and lays down stringent requirements for all equipment
subject to pressure, including bellows type expansion joints.
The
JMFlex range of rubber expansion joints has been thoroughly tested
on our own PED test rigs to the movements, pressures, temperatures
and burst pressures, as stipulated by DIN 4809.
We
are pleased to say that the JMFlex range of expansion joints are
now PED approved by LRQA for PED Group 1 liquids and fall into
the following PED categories when used at their maximum design
pressure :-
Size
range 32mm to 100mm inclusive = Article 3 Paragraph 3 (S.E.P.)
Size range 125mm to 300mm inclusive = Category II
Please
contact our sales office if JMFlex expansion joints are to be used with
PED Group 1 gases.
